About us

Cumbria Microlight Training (CMT) is owned and operated by Dave Parker.

Dave has been flying microlights for over 20 years and a qualified instructor for the past 17 years.

Safety is CMT's number one priority. You can be confident you'll be in safe hands.

CMT has been training students to fly for 17 years now and is based at Carlisle Airport, a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) fully licenced operational airport. This type of training environment is ideal for learning to fly microlights. Unlike learning to fly microlights at many isolated airfields, you’ll quickly become familiar to flying in a licenced environment which will prove invaluable throughout your training syllabus and also once you have gained your licence.

CMT works hard to promote and maintain a relaxed training environment at it’s club house which is situated adjacent to the main control tower. However when it comes to flight training CMT are very serious. Safety is CMT’s number one priority in everything we do.

Our aircraft are operated and maintained to the highest standards possible.

CMT train on both flexwing and fixed wing aircraft.

Our aircrafts include :-

2 x Ikarus C42
1 x Mainair Blade 912 Flexwing Microlight
1 x PM Aviation Quik GT450

Many pilots have realised their flying ambitions here at CMT, please feel free to visit us at any time your always welcome.
